SHARLENE GRAVES
President

Sharlene has a vision to create a world that’s a better place through service. It’s both simple and complex. Her advice is to start, get involved and love those around you. Sharlene has been great supporter and long time board member of the work done in Peru and now in Africa through Elevate Hope International.

SARA BARIL
Secretary

Sara is a mother of 5 and grandmother of 2. Her early college years were spent in early childhood education, which has given her a passion for helping children grow and thrive. She is also a published musician and uses her music to help with fundraising. She and her husband Mark founded the work in Uganda. She runs the website and also works part time as a legal assistant.

KRISTEN ANDERSON
Treasurer

Kristen graduated from Lethbridge College with a degree in Business Administration and a major in Accounting. She is a mother of 7, a grandmother of 11 and a passionate supporter of humanitarian work. Her experience with accounting as well as her vast life experience, plus her desire to serve is a great asset to Elevate Hope International.

JORDAN JENSEN
Director

Jordan is the Executive Director of Heartland Training and Support Hub, with a degree in International Business Management and expertise in project management and grant writing. A husband and father of 3, he is passionate about empowering the disadvantaged through education and support.

DON DAUGHTON
Director

Don was born in Edson, Alberta and pursued a career in Power Engineering in Pulp and in Oil Industry. He retired and settled in southern Alberta in 2010 and has been working to assist the board for several years. He brings a great knowledge base of wisdom and experience.

DANA KANYO
Director

Dana has been an inspiring member of the original High Andes Society board for 14 years. Renowned for her positivity and ability to uplift others, she fosters a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, helping the team stay motivated and united in their mission. She brings great treats to all the board meetings!

STEVE LEAVITT
Director

Steve is a husband father of 5 children and 15 grandchildren. He is an agriculture professional with a 37 year career, a member of Rotary for 23 years (including past District Governor 2022/2023), and has 20 years of leadership in Boy Scouts Canada, including District Commissioner MSc in Agriculture Economics. A great wealth of knowledge and asset to our board!

She is passionate about seeing children succeed and reach their full potential. Her leadership and kindness to other women, yet ability to empower them, and her ability to see the needs of children makes her a valuable part of our team.

RWANDA

ALEXIS DUSHIMIYIMANA

During COVID-19, our Intermediary, Alexis, rescued 13 homeless children, placing them in safe homes and schools. Five now live with him. He works tirelessly to ensure all children have safety, care and education. Our work in Rwanda helps to support these children that Alexis takes care of.

Jeanne founder “Willing To Change Sewing and Knitting School”, were she is empowering women in Rwanda through skill development. Her leadership is a vital asset to Elevate Hope International.

Sewing School Leader

Joana leads the sewing school, and manages the day to day operations. She is a great help in teaching the women she serves. Her leadership and dedication are vital to the program’s success.

BONNY MARK ALINGA
President

Bonny Mark is a skilled Grants Analyst, particularly with international organizations. He also has extensive leadership experience with Rotary International and local clubs in Uganda. He hold an MBA in strategic management from Uganda Christian University. He founded the Nissi High School in his community and established Solace of Hope (NGO) which supports woman, orphans and vulnerable children.

JONATHAN MUKIIBI
Director

Jonathan is the director and owner of a successful Safari service, Jonah Safaris. He is a team manager at Entebbe Mongers Rugby Club and the Executive Director of Abato Barn Children’s Foundation Uganda. He has always been a great friend and driver to several groups of Rotarians from Canada and is a great asset to the Elevate Hope International Limited board in Uganda, advising on projects with his experience.
